Racing together for a cure was the main event in Alvarado Texas as Cowen Equine and Lone Star Service Company teamed up with M7 Arena to raise money for the Gulf Coast Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis. As each rider chased barrels in hopes of being the best, they also contributed to a great cause and helped chase a cure for this life threatening disease that strikes so many Americans and people around the world. Blessed with the support of M7 Arena the event was a success and all proceed will go to the Gulf Coast Foundation for Cystic Fibrosis. Cash Robinson who lives with cystic fibrosis was on hand to enjoy the days festivities. A tough lil buckaroo who inspires everybody to "Cowboy Up" and smile. This weekend we returned to M7 Arena to capture each riders moment in the spotlight as the best and fastest gathered to chase cans and dreams and a $1,000 in cash in Adams Tack New Years Day Barrel Race. The reason everybody loves an event held at M7 is because of the Master of Ceremonies, Todd Massey and his incredible team who keep things running smooth. Mr Massey has created a rodeo oasis in the heart of Alvarado Texas where cowboys and cowgirls of all ages come to compete in the great American tradition. M7 Arena is a community of family and friends who encourage and support one another as they face off to beat each other to the finish line. As we kick off this year in photos we would like to acknowledge Todd, his wife Lori and their children for providing a home to rodeo where memories are made that will last forever. In the heat of the race on this cold winter's day Maurice Bearb and his horse Relagatesfortune lit up the pattern to take third in the 1D and claimed some cash and prizes on this new year's day. Although the temperature dropped outside, the heat was on in side of the arena and winning cash was on everybody wish list. When the dust settled, Kelly Bruner with a time of 15:210 won the day and took home a Christmas bonus. She must have been on the "Good List" for sure and deserved the top spot. Of course every rider is on our "Good List" and we would like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas. Great job Kelly, what a great way to end a great year at BRAT. Congratulations to Lauren Turk who drew the key to win the big prize of the evening. M7 Arena always has exciting events and the final edition to their trailer series was no exception. Its always fun to watch someone win a big prize. Of course our favorite part is photographing all the action and the smiling faces. We even spotted a tiny bull fighter moonlighting at the arena who looked ready to step in and protect the riders! Heros come in all sizes and this buckaroo with a big heart was our photo of the night. Pictured below is Lauren Turk and her brand new trailer. Other winners included Autum Hall and Cari Reynolds proving that if you wanna win, you better ride like a girl!
Youth rodeo is where tomorrows champions are made. And the stick horse event is where it all begins. It might look like fun and games but once the flag drops the friendship stops! This event is guaranteed to bring tears to the eyes of many, literally. Some enter with dreams of winning, others enter not really knowing whats going on, but one thing for sure win or lose each child fills the arena with cheers, love and lots of excitement. This past youth rodeo event at M7 Arena in Alvarado was no exception. The days event began with seven of the best young buckaroos with their trusted stick horse in hand. The M7 Arena hosts one of the best youth rodeo in Texas and Imagehounds is always glad to be on site to photograph all of the action.
