RFDTV THE AMERICAN RODEO MAKES HISTORY...

3/7/2021

For The First Time In American Rodeo History The Top 10 World Invitees Win In Every Event
PRESS RELEASE: March 7, 2021 - RFD-TV’s The American Rodeo Presented by Durango Boots has crowned its 2021 champions, and each of these winners, for the first time in the American Rodeo history, are all from the top 10 world invitees, each taking home $100,000 in prize money.  Because no qualifier won their event, there was no million dollar bonus this year, and now the million will carry over to next year to potentially turn someone into the next multi-million dollar cowboy.
Picture
“All of these champions today demonstrated such strength and perseverance throughout the entire competition and there were so many incredible performances,” said The American Rodeo CEO Randy Bernard. “We were so fortunate to host this event this year under extraordinary times and all of the athletes were extremely appreciative to have something to look forward to and compete when many events were unable to operate due to Covid.”

After 11 days of competition from slack rounds to the Semi-Finals in Fort Worth to Arlington, the final champions of the American Rodeo have been decided in an epic battle to one of the most coveted titles in western sports.
The following 2021 American Rodeo winners are as follows:
Ryder Wright on horse All or Nothing wins Saddle Bronc with a 91.25, making this his second American Rodeo win in three years.  When asked about winning this year and the support of his brothers he responds, “It’s awesome and I think that’s why we have so much success.  We all do the same thing and to have my brothers behind me on the chutes, you can’t beat family.” He adds, “This is awesome and all of us cowboys appreciate these guys pulling through and having this rodeo with all the stuff going on right now.”
Colten Fritzlan wins his first American Rodeo in Bull Riding at the age of 21 and climbs the steps for his check with a big smile on his face.  “This is definitely what I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. I’m glad it worked out and I am blessed.  For one thing, I like it over here in Arlington and all the hard work we put in everyday made it work out. I just take it every bull at a time and have the right mindset and let it all hang out.” Colten also won in 2020 the PRCA Resistol Rookie of the Year for bull riding.

Breakaway Roping winner Jill Tanner took eight years off and said, “I for sure didn’t think I was going to win it.  I am definitely not the best roper here but today was my day.“

Shane Hanchey ends up with the win for Tie-Down Roping and has the will and heart of a champion.  “I just feel like I am the best roper in the world.  If you don’t believe it, then you’re not it.  Confidence is the main key to this game from bareback to bull riding.  I just felt on that horse, I had all the confidence in the world and if not for TJ, I wouldn’t be here.”

Veteran world champion Erich Rogers and young gun Paden Bray, who won the 2020 NFR average, take the American Rodeo title for Team Roping and Rogers, a 10X NFR qualifier, says this is one he’s been wanting for a long time.  “This buckle here is pretty sweet. The fans and sponsors and everyone behind the scenes have given us the opportunity for this money and buckle and we are here to show our talents.” said Rogers.
Picture
Barrel Racing winner Hailey Kinsel continues to win and is a 3x American Rodeo champion.  “We are grateful for every opportunity, especially really nice ones like this and especially after such a hard year on everyone and being given something to run at and able to showcase my amazing horse.”
Picture
7X NFR qualifier Tilden Hooper takes the Bareback title and after a seasoned career can now claim winner of The American Rodeo and sets him up well for a world title.  “Man that was awesome.  That Gunfire is a special horse and I was super excited to draw her,” he said when accepting his $100,000 check.
Picture
Steer Wrestling The American Rodeo champion Jacob Talley puts on a show winning the $100,000 prize and had a spectacular run all day in both the long go and short go rounds.  When asked how he felt about his final ride he said, “It’s a little nerve wracking waiting to go.  It’s amazing and unreal to win so early in the year.”

PRESS RELEASE: March 5, 2021 - Fort Worth, Texas – RFD-TV’s The American Rodeo in conjunction with Better Barrel Races, announced today they have made a rule clarification.  In the first time in its eight year history, there is one person who is going into her third performance with two horses in the Top 10.

Kassie Mowry - Imagehounds™
In the event Barrel Racer Kassie Mowry has both times stay in the Top 10, she will advance both horses to The American Rodeo at AT&T Stadium this weekend and take her shot at the $1 million dollar bonus.

“This is a very exciting development that has never happened. If Kassie believed enough in both of her horses to enter both and pay entry fees on both, she surely should be able to compete on each of them,” said Randy Bernard, The American Rodeo CEO. “It’s no easy feat to make it this far on one horse let alone two so this will make history if it happens and we wish her the best of luck.”

Waxahachie Xtreme Bulls Championship 2020!

11/10/2020

In a year where action is scarce, it was awesome to see Ellis County put on a great rodeo that was rank with talent.
When the clock stopped ticking, and the riders stopped kicking, it was Chris Bechthold's winning ride on Dragons Breath of Rafter G that made him champion at the Ellis County Stock Show Xtreme Bulls in Waxahachie Texas.

Mesquite championship rodeo is alive and kicking...

8/18/2020

Mesquite is named "The Rodeo Capital of Texas" and this weekend PRCA cowboys saddled up for one of the only events being held in a fan filled arena. There is a pandemic going on and the only cure is more cowbell! The stadium seating was at half capacity to allow for some social distancing but inside the arena it was jam packed with action.
Picture
Bradley Harter Saddle Bronc
In one of the only pro rodeo events being held with fans in attendance, the cowboys did not disappoint. Events from broncs to bulls were a thrill to watch. Bradley Harter on broncs, Walt Arnold wrestling steers and James Rogers on bulls provided heart stopping performances and proving Mesquite is definitely the capitol of rodeo.

BRAT RIDES AGAIN...

5/11/2020

North Texas rides again at BRAT Barrel race and it was buzzing with riders eager to get back to being Texan. The Barrel Racing Association of Texas was kicking up dirt for its Mother's Day event in North Texas. Hundreds of riders were trying their best to keep some distance from barrels as they returned to the arena to battle for cash and bragging rights.
Alex Hall The Fire Ball
Rocky gallops home with Alex Hall the fire ball who always rides with a smile
Although this Texas tradition can be filled with serious competition, its more like a get together with friends and family to ride horses and have fun. Winning buckles and money is nice but its the laughs and good times is all we ever remember. So it was nice to see so many riders come out and take part in this run for the money at Shepherds Valley arena in Alvarado.

We were also happy to be back in the arena capturing the action and picking up where we left off. Its always our pleasure to be a part of the BRAT family and we thank everybody for embracing us as your official photographers.

Wyatt Casper won the saddle bronc riding at RFD-TV’s The American Rodeo 2020 in Arlington Texas in front of a packed stadium. Nobody is going to tell thousands of rodeo fans that they can't come out to watch the greatest show on dirt. Everybody in the stadium had a fever for rodeo and the only cure was more cowbell!

Wyatt Casper from Pampa Texas scored 91.25 on "Get Smart" to take home $600,000.  It's nice to see a real Texas Cowboy win in Arlington stadium. Wyatt will definitely be in Las Vegas when the finals take place in September.
The non stop action in the arena, combined with food, folks and fun was just what the doctor ordered.

On a heated summer day in the Golden State of California, Horsetown USA put on its 35th annual PRCA rodeo in grand fashion. Although southern California is more known for sun and surf, there is plenty of country loving fans to fill the seats for this local tradition. Food vendors and boutique booths of souvenirs and apparel were mixed in with games and family fun prior to the main event. People watching is as fun since there was a diverse crowd who came from all over the San Bernadino and Los Angeles counties to take in the sights, sounds and smell of a real rodeo.  CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO SEE FULL PHOTO
Norco, CA was filled with great bucking action of rough stock, equestrian entertainment with the The Norco Cowgirls Drill Team and the motorcycle act of Wild Child Rodeo Productions was high flying fun.
The 35th annual PRCA rodeo hosted by the Norco Mounted Posse is a great Southern California tradition. We look forward to next years event and hope to see y'all there!
